Overview of the Polish Boat Registration Process
Registering your boat under the Polish flag through the REJA24 system is one of the simplest and most cost-effective ways to obtain an EU flag registration. The entire process can be completed remotely, without bringing your boat to Poland or undergoing any technical inspection. At Polish-Flags.com, we handle 95% of the work — you just need to provide your documents and sign a power of attorney.
This guide walks you through every step of the process, from placing your order to receiving your registration certificate by courier.
Step 1: Place Your Order Online (3 minutes)
The process begins on our website at polish-flags.com. Fill in our simple 3-step order form with your personal details and basic information about your vessel. Choose one of our three packages: Standard (€299, up to 40 days), Express (€449, PDF in ~7 business days), or Priority (€599, PDF in ~3 business days). Complete the payment, and you will receive a confirmation email with detailed instructions.
Step 2: Submit Your Documents (1-2 days)
After placing your order, we send you a detailed checklist of required documents. Everything can be submitted as scanned copies via email — no originals needed at this stage. The typical documents required include:
- CE Declaration of Conformity — confirms your boat meets European safety standards
- HIN (Hull Identification Number) — the unique identification number engraved on your hull
- Proof of ownership — purchase invoice, bill of sale, or transfer document
- Valid ID — passport or national identity card
- Deregistration certificate — if your boat is currently registered in another country
- Power of attorney — we prepare this document for you; you just need to sign it
Step 3: Document Verification (1-3 days)
Our team carefully reviews all submitted documents for completeness and accuracy. If anything is missing or needs clarification, we contact you immediately. This quality check ensures your application will be processed smoothly without delays or rejections from the registration authority.
Step 4: Application Filing via REJA24
Once all documents are verified, we file your registration application with the Polish maritime authority through the REJA24 electronic system. This is the official government platform for recreational vessel registration in Poland. By Polish law, the authority has up to 30 days to process the application, though in practice it often takes less time.
Step 5: Registration Approval
When your registration is approved, the authority issues an official registration certificate — a durable plastic card containing all essential information about your vessel, including the registration number, vessel details, and owner information. For Express and Priority packages, we also receive a digital PDF certificate which we immediately forward to you by email.
Step 6: Document Collection and Delivery
We personally collect the original registration certificate from the Polish authority and arrange worldwide courier delivery to your address. The courier service is included in all our packages at no additional cost. Delivery typically takes 3-7 business days depending on your location.
What happens after registration?
Once registered, your boat is officially entered in the Polish REJA24 register. The registration is permanent — there are no annual renewal fees or periodic inspections required. You will need to display the Polish flag and your registration number on your vessel. Your boat now enjoys all the benefits of EU flag state registration, including unrestricted access to EU waters.
