Where can I sail with the Polish flag? Are there any restrictions? →
There are no sailing area restrictions. The Polish flag is a full EU flag, recognized worldwide under the Paris MoU White List. You can navigate freely in all European waters, the Mediterranean, the Atlantic, the Caribbean, and anywhere in the world. Port authorities globally accept Polish registration documents without issues.
Who can register a boat under the Polish flag? Do I need to be an EU citizen? →
Any nationality can register. You do not need to be a Polish citizen, EU resident, or even live in Europe. Boat owners from all countries — including the UK, USA, Australia, Turkey, Norway, and others — successfully register their vessels under the Polish flag through our service.
What documents do I need for registration? →
You need: a copy of your passport or ID, proof of ownership (bill of sale, invoice, or purchase agreement), photos of the hull and engine with visible serial numbers, and a CE certificate if the boat was built after June 1998. For vessels previously registered abroad, a deregistration certificate is also required.
Do I need a skipper license to register my boat? →
No skipper license is required for the registration process itself. Your existing boating qualifications (RYA, ICC, national licenses) remain fully valid when sailing under the Polish flag. For boats up to 7.5 meters with an engine up to 10 HP, Polish law does not require any license to operate.
Can I register my boat for commercial use or chartering? →
Yes. Polish registration covers both private and commercial use, including bareboat charter. The registration cost is the same regardless of intended use. Many charter companies across the Mediterranean register their fleets under the Polish flag.

Yes. All major marine insurance companies accept the Polish flag as an EU flag state. Poland is on the Paris MoU White List, which means favorable treatment by insurers and port authorities worldwide. We can assist with finding competitive marine insurance if needed.

If your vessel has VHF radio, AIS, or DSC equipment, an MMSI number and radio license are required in most countries. We can help you obtain a Polish MMSI and Ship Radio License as an add-on service to your registration.
Is Polish registration valid for life? Do I need to renew it? →
Yes, Polish vessel registration is valid for life with no renewal fees and no expiration date. This is a major advantage over many other flag states that require annual or periodic renewals. Once registered, your vessel stays registered until you choose to deregister it.
