FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an MMSI if my boat is small?
If you have VHF, AIS or DSC equipment on board, yes. Required by ITU rules in most jurisdictions, regardless of vessel size.
Can I get a Polish MMSI without Polish flag registration?
Yes, but your boat must already be registered somewhere recognised by ITU. If your boat is not yet registered, bundle this with our REJA24 registration package.
How long does UKE take?
Typically 2–4 weeks from application submission. We file electronically and follow up to keep things moving.
Will my old MMSI still work?
No. When you change flag, you must surrender the old MMSI and obtain a new one from your new flag's authority. Keep both during the transition only.
What about EPIRB / SART registration?
We can include EPIRB programming with your new MMSI on request — just reply to the order confirmation email.
Do I need a radio operator's license?
Separate from the ship's radio license. Most countries require an SRC certificate for the operator. We can advise on equivalency for non-Polish certificates.
Refund policy?
UKE fee plus admin work is non-refundable once the application is filed. Cancellation before filing: full refund minus 5% processing fee.
Phone support?
No. We operate via email only (info@polish-flags.com) for clear, written records and efficient worldwide service.
